Who we're looking for

We’re looking for a recent Business, Commerce or Social Sciences graduate with an insatiable  intellectual curiosity, a strong foundation in research and business analytics, who wants to contribute meaningfully to a cornerstone of our business – thought leadership.

At Perennial, driving thought leadership extends from keeping up with the latest industry news and trends to engaging our clients with thought-provoking ideas. Under the direction of the Director, Retail Insights, the Market Intelligence Researcher will play a key role in supporting thought leadership within the business. From conducting desktop research to identify trends and competitive intelligence across a range of industries to participating in idea generation brainstorm sessions to develop content your ability to digest information and derive relevant consumer and business insights will reinforce our thought leadership with clients.

Our ideal candidate will have strong business writing skills, experience developing, researching and writing content, with solid problem solving abilities and is capable of working both with a team as well as independently when required. The individual will have an outgoing, professional and friendly disposition with the ability to work with a range of personalities. A keen attention to detail, the ability to prioritize workload according to deadlines and the focus to take ownership of a project and see it through to the end are also crucial.



Essential duties and responsibilities

• Conduct desktop research, summarize and synthesize research to support the development of insights for client engagements,new business pursuits, thought leadership content (eBlasts, articles, POVs, trend reports, white papers, presentations)

• Monitor and analyze market trends across market sectors including retail, healthcare, financial services, energy, and more

• Participate in team brainstorm sessions to generate ideas for thought leadership content

• Coordinate the preparation and development of content in collaboration with studio resources

 

Key competencies and qualifications

• Excellent writing, proofreading and verbal communication skills

• Ability to translate research findings into easily understood and meaningful insights

• Post-secondary education in Business, Commerce or Social Sciences

• 1 – 2 years work experience preferred

• Proven analytical, planning and organizational skills

• Ability to work collaboratively

• High energy level, ability to multitask and establish priorities according to deadlines andthe changing needs of the business

• Fully proficient in all Microsoft Office applications is a must (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
